It’s that time of year when we want to take a break from posting and just enjoy the hot weather. The sun is out, patios are open, and everyone is spending their weekends at the beach. The last thing you want to worry about while you are trying to pack for your summer vacation is coming up with new content. Well, we are here to help make that happen!
How to Take a Break from Posting During Your Summer Vacation
Whether you post a few times a week or every day, the key to taking a break from posting during the summer is having content ready to go out automatically. Here are a few things that will help you get content ready so that you don’t have to worry about posting when you’re sitting poolside sipping cocktails.
Content Bank
Content banks come in very handy in everyday life, especially when you are prepping content before a vacay. Whether you have a folder in Google Drive, thousands of uploads in Canva, or just a million photos saved on your phone, a content bank is so helpful. It is great to pull these existing photos and videos so that you don’t have to spend extra time planning and shooting content.
Batch Content
This is where that content bank we just discussed is very useful. Browse through all the photos and videos you have taken and start to select ones that are still relevant to your business. Keep in mind any special days that will be happening when you post (such as holidays or events), so you can quickly pick out media that will work for those specific dates.
Batch Captions
Batching captions can be helpful for everyday posting and extremely helpful when you batch content. Creating captions can happen at any time. You can sit down and brainstorm captions when you have time, keep a note on your phone ready for whenever inspiration strikes, or gather cool captions from other accounts. When batching content, having a bank of captions ready to go will make your life a lot easier and save you loads of time and writer’s block!
Schedule Your Content
The next step is scheduling all of the content you have been batching so that you don’t have to worry about posting it on your holiday. It is very helpful to use platforms like Later or Plannorly to schedule your content, but you can also use Facebook and even Instagram to schedule posts too.
Take a Break
Don’t forget that it is perfectly okay to take a break! You can schedule content, but you can also let your customers know that you are going on a trip and will be taking a mini hiatus.
